Topsail Island

We recently spent a week on Topsail Island in North Carolina. It was a lot of fun! Craig's parents and brother met us there and we stayed in a house on the beach that was awesome! We started the trip early on Friday July 3 and made it to Raleigh, NC where Craig's friends from college live. Mike and Salena took good care of us for a night. They fed us very well so we were sad to leave Saturday afternoon. :)
We gave Luke a new set of goggles to use at the beach, but he had to wear them during a lot of the trip. He even had them fogged up in the car.

Grandma Peggy and Luke making his birthday cake.

Luke was very afraid of the ocean. He cried and clung to us anytime we got close to the water. We thought letting him ride his bike on the beach might help calm him down. Can you tell he was screaming and crying in this picture? So much for that idea.

Luke hated the ocean, but he loved the little pools the tide changes would leave behind.

Opening presents on Luke's birthday.

Allison, Caitlyn, James, Peyton, and Brooke came to visit for an afternoon. This is the best picture I could get of all the little ones on the beach. There was just too much going on.

This picture was much better of all the kids. James is MIA though.

We didn't see any sharks this big, but we did see a fisherman catch a shark from our deck. He was fishing on the beach too, not in a boat!!! It was just a baby...about 3 feet long!!!

Craig and Mallory waiving from our bedroom. We slept in the loft that overlooked our living room, but more importantly the ocean. It was really cool to keep the windows open and fall asleep as well as wake up to the ocean.....or a crying kid.

Headed to the beach!
We went crab hunting a few nights and here is just one of our finds. They are so cute!
