Out of Control :)

If you remember Luke likes to sleep with his toys. It used to be just a few or something new, but now it's out of control! Today, he emptied one of his toy crates in bed with him. You can see the pile of toys by his feet.

Ready for Winter

The hats they are wearing were given to my mom from one of the patients she takes care of. It's a little warm for them now, but I'm sure they'll get some use in the winter. Luke loves his. He wears it at the dinner table and around the house all the time.

Poor Rocky

Rocky has gone from number one to number three in a matter of two short years. He used to be the one filling up our photo albums and now, I rarely take a picture of him. I feel bad. So here's a picture of Rocky if you forget what he looks like. He is such a good dog!! Even though Luke isn't his favorite person, he still manages to put up with Luke chasing him with the lawn mower, trying to give him kisses, and pulling his tail. We love Rocky!!!

A Night at the Drive-In

We used to go to movies all the time. Now, they are too expensive and it's hard to go with kids. Plus, once they're on DVD, we can check them out from Uncle Jim's rentals for free. However, we found a fun way to watch movies and it's not too expensive, the drive-in. Luke liked crawling around in the back of the van, Mallory went to sleep, and we got to watch a new movie.

Mallory's Checkup

Mallory had a heart checkup last week. She weighed in at 15lbs. 8 oz. She is doing very well. Her blood pressure was a bit elevated. Her aorta is still narrowed from scar tissue forming where it was repaired. Since it is still narrow, they would like to perform a heart cath and stretch it out. This will open the aorta and let even more blood flow through. We don’t have a time frame, but it will be in the near future. This procedure will help her get off of her blood pressure medicine. This will be wonderful since she’s been taking it seven times a day for 5 and ½ months. This site has a good summary of her condition. It summarizes her perfectly. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=11069

Idlewild

Here are some pictures from our recent end of the summer celebration. We went to Idlewild. It’s a kid’s amusement park in Pennsylvania. We had a lot fun! Luke said hello to every person he saw. A gentleman even gave him two dollars in our hotel. We had a great time.
Luke sleeping in the car on the way. Dad & Mallory at Dinner.

We had to hide under a pavilion while it sprinkled.
The water was soooooooo cold in the water park. Luke and I got in trouble for going down the water slide in the background together.

It was a long afternoon! They needed to rest.

Re(Mount)union

We made a trip to PA over the weekend to visit with old MUC friends. It was a lot of fun see everyone again. Thanks to Anne for allowing us to get together at her house! Luke was worn out!!

Smile and Say Cheese (Chuck E.)

I always wanted to visit a Chuck E. Cheese. Luke is at the right age to start enjoying things like that so we went last week and had a lot of fun! I took Luke through the tubes once and then we thought he would be able to go on his own. We helped him get in and then heard him screaming. We could see him through the windows in the tubes, but he couldn't find his way out. (It actually is really hard to find you way out.) So I crawled in to find him. A little girl brought him to me and said he keeps saying "potty, potty!" That's why he was crying. We didn't let go back in by himself. Dad had to take a turn.

Five Months!!

Ball Game

We went to watch the Akron Aeros play baseball last week. It was a lot of fun. Ours seats were in the sun, so we found a picnic table on the patio and watched the game from left field. It worked out well.
Thanks to Uncle Jimmy, Luke and Mallory had gloves to take to the game.

Luke's first ballpark hot dog. He ate the whole thing!!

The park is right beside Akron Children's Hospital.

It was a long evening for Luke. He fell asleep with his glove.
